Melbourne Retrospective

Melbourne was an impromptu trip, when Phillipa noticed Jetstar had some really really tiny fares. This comes from surfing the internet airline sites late at night. Most of the other stuff, like accommodation and a rental car we got on Fly Buys and Hot Points. But is is our anniversary. Chris joined us from Brisbane for a couple of days, and used up some more time in the timeshare we hired.

The Choirs

.

Each year we have the Big Sing, a choir competition. Regiona competitions in the town hall here in Christchurch, and then finals somewhere. This year it was Auckland. There are three choirs from Villa. Here is Phillipa with one of the choirs. She is a lot easier to live with with a choir in her life.

Con Brio won a gold at the nationals. They are going on a trip to Italy soon. Fortunately they have needed some ‘accompanyinag adults’. Tough for some.

We leave on Sept 23rd.

Rome > Venice > Florence > Sienna >  Rome > Dubai.

Chris’s concert

I don’t think we will ever again see 70 kids waving their cell phones to “Country Roads” (Mike and Mark):

This was probably a unique rendition of Bohemian Rapsody:

And the dance troupe was superb

Sonny and Cher:

Wymas and Friend:

Ticket takers:

The concert was to raise money for our impecunious son Chris and to have some fun. We achieved our aim . . .
